Tayaba Jafri has developed her reputation with over a decade of experience in the fashion and cosmetics industry. Tayaba is based out of Toronto, Canada, and currently travels nationally and internationally teaching Laura's philosophy and educating women on makeup style and trend. She joined the Laura Mercier Company in 2003. Tayaba was initially inspired by the glamour of film and the runway. As a student, Tayaba pursued her passion by working at the corporate office of a major cosmetics company. Following high school, her love of the arts and fashion took her to Ryerson University in Toronto where she earned a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Fashion Marketing. As Tayaba grew within the industry, she found a new enthusiasm in education and began training others on the most current makeup application and trends. During this time, she learned to take her artistry skills to a new and higher level. Tayaba has worked in nearly every facet of the industry. Along with being the makeup artist of choice for several independent films, Tayaba has been actively involved in Toronto Fashion Week and the Toronto International Film Festival for several years.

She began making a name for her while working for makeup brands such as L’Oreal Paris at the Toronto Fashion Week and for Laura Mercier and Brown Bobbi at the Holt Renfrew flagship store in up-scale Yorkville in Toronto. Carla’s superior makeup talents were soon recognized and she started getting makeup projects from clients from all walks of life.

Carla has specialized training in major makeup and skin care lines such as Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, La Mer, Chanel, L'Oreal, Nars, Sisley, Clinique, Smashbox and Makeup Forever, and uses the best-of-breed products based on her clients’ skin tones, health, lifestyles and needs.

Carla and her affiliates have done over 450 weddings for brides of all lifestyles, skin types and cultural groups.
